Bunker Hill Community College Among Nation’s Top Military-Friendly Colleges/Universities

Thursday, November 6, 2014

For the second consecutive year Bunker Hill Community College has been named to the list of top Military Friendly Schools by Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life. The list singles out the colleges, universities and trade schools that do the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.

Victory Media cited BHCC for its continued interest in recruiting military students. The College’s accessible Veterans Center, established in 2010, is centrally located in the main lobby, signaling the community’s welcome to veterans and military families, and offering them a range of resources to support their success. BHCC currently enrolls more than 470 military and veteran students; about 61 percent of them study full time.

For the last six years, Victory Media has conducted a data-driven survey of the more than 10,000 schools nationwide approved for Veterans Administration tuition funding; the top 20 percent are honored on the Military Friendly Schools list.

The Military Friendly Schools website, http://militaryfriendly.com/schools/, features the list, interactive tools and search functionality to help military students find the best school for their needs.
