We are halfway through the semester and it’s a great time for you to check SelfService for midterm grades!
Registration for summer classes starts on March 13, 2018. Check out the summer schedule today to plan your summer class schedule. Register early to lock in your perfect schedule!
Don’t have money to pay for summer classes right away? Don’t worry—your classes will be held to your payment due date! Check SelfService to find out if you are eligible for summer financial aid. If so, it will be on your account!
A table is available to help you figure out when your payment is due for summer class registration.
Financial Aid Information
Now is the time to start planning your fall classes and meeting with your academic advisor! Registration is right around the corner and you want to make sure you get the classes you need. If you haven’t finished your FAFSA for the 2018-2019 academic year, it’s not too late. Fill out your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) today for next year’s classes and make sure you get your award on time.

Priority 1 Deadline for the 2018-2019 FAFSA:
Your 2018-2019 financial aid file should be complete by May 1, 2018 to meet the Massachusetts state grant deadline.
Refunds of excess financial aid:
Your actual financial aid dollars will be credited to your account during the middle of the semester after your enrollment level has been verified, book charges have been added to your account and all NA grades have been reported by your professors. If your financial aid results in a credit, you will be refunded this difference. This generally happens in early to Mid-March for the spring semester.

Now that you’ve got a week of classes under your belt, if you’re still planning to make updates to your schedule, please make sure you finalize any changes by 11:59 p.m. tonight (for regular spring classes – not including late-start and mini session courses). If you’re adding a class, make sure you catch up on any missed work and touch base with your faculty member. Review online schedule adjustment information and the College’s financial responsibility statement.
Have you thought about taking mini session courses this semester? Mini sessions allow you to finish a whole course in about eight weeks! Mini Session I starts January 29—check out the schedule of mini session courses offered on the Charlestown and Chelsea Campuses this semester and register through BHCCselfservice.

Spring semester is almost here!
If you have already registered, we look forward to seeing you in the Spring 2018 Semester! Make sure you log into selfservice to check your spring schedule.
If you are on a waitlist, please note that the waitlist will be dissolved today. You can still register for any available seat.
If you have not registered, registration is still open to all new and current students. You are able to register up until Jan 22! But don’t wait, register online today at BHCCselfservice to save your spot in your spring classes. Payment is due at the time of registration, but if you register now, your seat will be reserved until January 16. Get more details on payment deadlines on the Student Payment website.
Get a jump start on your Fall 2018 Financial Aid! Apply now for your fall 2018 financial aid package at fafsa.ed.gov now so you don’t have to worry about it later.
We’re also pleased to announce that the BHCC portal is now BHCCselfservice! Selfservice is your one-stop virtual destination for online student services related to your account. Log in to your account for customized student services at selfservice.bhcc.edu. The new and improved LifeMap is now available online at bhcc.edu/lifemap. Check out the new site today and view your LifeMap plan based on how many credits you’ve earned.
- Add/Drop will end on January 22. That will be your last day to register for a class or drop a class you no longer want to take.
- Waive your health insurance for the spring semester by February 15! This is only needed if you have not waived it in the Fall Semester.

December 5, 2017 BHCC Student Central Newsletter: Thinking ahead to spring semester
Fall semester is almost over already, which means spring semester is right around the corner! Registration is now open to all new and current students—you don’t need to wait for your fall grades to post before registering. Register online today at BHCCselfservice to save your spot in your spring classes and you’ll have until December 12 to pay.
Speaking of payment, you can get ahead for fall 2018 financial aid! Apply now for your fall 2018 financial aid package at www.fafsa.ed.gov now so you don’t have to worry about it later.
If you need to withdraw from a Mini Session II course, the deadline is December 6. The deadline to withdraw from the College is December 7.

November 9, 2017 BHCC Student Central Newsletter: Register for Spring Semester!
Are you ready to register for spring? Currently-enrolled students received an email on October 30 indicating their registration start date (between November 7-16). Log in to BHCCselfservice to plan your schedule, and complete your registration as soon as your start date arrives. Registering early can help ensure you save your seat in your class—register early and you’ll have until December 12 to make sure your account is paid.
To make sure you receive notification of your award by the payment deadline, complete your financial aid file by December 1. If you’re enrolling in more than 9 credits for spring, remember that you will be automatically enrolled in the Student Comprehensive Health Insurance Plan—if you already have coverage, be sure to waive health insurance if you didn’t already do so this fall.
Tuition & Fees
Tuition and fees for spring courses will be $ 186 per credit hour. Additional fees apply to certain programs: some programs require an additional Special Cost Courses Fee of $50 per credit hour; certain music courses have an additional $375 fee per course; and a malpractice liability insurance fee of $15 may apply for some health courses. Upcoming Deadline: Last day to Withdraw
If you need to withdraw from a fall semester course (except for late-start or mini sessions), the deadline is November 17.

We’re officially open! This morning, BHCC Student Central officially opens its doors in Room B325 on the Charlestown Campus. If you’re looking for Financial Aid, Student Payment or Registration, Student Central is now your one-stop student services center. We can’t wait to help you streamline your college success!
In addition to the physical opening, we are excited to announce the launch of Virtual Student Central, a section of the BHCC website where you can conduct many of your registration, financial aid and student payment transactions online, 24/7. You’ve registered for courses - now make sure to lock them in!
Payment for Fall 2017 courses is due Monday, August 7.
· Make sure you’ve paid in full, set up a payment plan or are fully covered by financial aid.
· If you have registered for 9 or more credits, you will be enrolled in and charged for the College’s Health Insurance Plan. If you are covered by a comparable health insurance plan, make sure to waive the College’s Health Insurance Plan by October 5. bhcc.edu/healthinsurance
Starting Tuesday, August 8, students who have not yet paid for Fall 2017 will be automatically dropped from all courses on a weekly basis. You worked hard to build the perfect schedule, so don’t lose your spot!
Remember, you can still register for fall classes through the month of August, but payment will be due at the time of registration.

Admissions and Enrollment Services and Academic Records have temporarily relocated to the A300 Lobby and Art Gallery until the end of the add/drop period this fall. Stop by and check out the temporary space!
Looking to take a course this summer? You still have two more days until the registration deadline for Summer Session II! The registration deadline is July 15, and classes run from July 17 – August 25. Find all the info you need at bhcc.edu/summer.
Finally, one important reminder about financial aid—the next financial aid priority deadline is coming up! Make sure your financial aid file is complete by July 21 to ensure you’re notified of your financial aid award by the fall bill due date. bhcc.edu/financialaid

Spring semester has come to an end, and now it’s time to gear up for a successful summer. It’s not too late to register for a summer course or two to stay sharp! But even if you’re not taking classes over the summer, here are some helpful tips to keep you on track and ready for fall.
- Waive the College health insurance if you are already covered. All students registered for 9 or more credits will be automatically enrolled in (and charged for) the BHCC student health insurance plan. If you’re already covered by a comparable health plan, make sure you complete the online waiver to avoid being charged. You can learn more at bhcc.edu/healthinsurance.
- Take note of summer office hours. Planning to swing by campus this summer for some paperwork? Financial Aid, Student Payment, Registration and LifeMap have different hours throughout the summer. Be sure to check the office’s web page before you come by for the latest hours.
- Plan the perfect fall course schedule. Now there’s an easy way to search for courses and course sections online through BHCCselfservice! With this new online course listing, you can choose the subject you’d like to browse, then use the filters along the left side of the screen to filter by location, term, day/time and more. Click to expand a course to view all available sections, including location, professor and number of available seats.

Stay up to date with the BHCC mobile app! You can access your final grades and register for fall classes on the go with the BHCC Mobile app, available for download through the apple store or the play store.
Speaking of grades and registration—did you know that you can register for fall classes now, even before your final grades are in for this semester? Save your seat in the classes you want now, and don’t worry about payment until August 7! There’s still plenty of time to lock in that perfect fall schedule before summer vacation. Student Payments No Longer Accepting Cash Payments
To ensure the safety of our student payments staff, the College will no longer be accepting cash payments at the Student Payment window. BHCC accepts payments via personal check, money order, American Express, VISA, MasterCard and Discover.
