Bunker Hill Community College President Pam Eddinger will join President Obama, the First Lady and Vice President Biden along with hundreds of college presidents and other higher education leaders to announce new actions to help more students prepare for and graduate from college.
Bunker Hill Community College Among Fastest Growing Community Colleges in U.S.
Bunker Hill Community College ranks among the 20 fastest growing of U.S. community colleges with enrollments of 10,000 or more, according to an analysis by Community College Week, an independent publication covering community, technical and junior colleges. The largest and most affordable community college in Massachusetts, BHCC currently enrolls more than 14,000 students.
Bunker Hill Community College Student Places First in National Math Competition
BHCC honors student Minwoo Yoo placed first in the nation in Round I of the American Mathematical Association of Two-Year Colleges Student Math League competition. Competing on the precalculus test against students from 187 community colleges, Yoo earned a perfect score. “I’m confident he’ll win Round II,” said Yoo’s mentor Elhoussine Ghardi, Assistant Professor, Mathematics Department. Round II is scheduled for February 13 to March 7, 2015.
Bunker Hill Community College Earns National Recognition for Service Work
Bunker Hill Community College has won national recognition for its service to the community. BHCC was among the institutions named to the 2014 President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for their volunteer and service work. This is the fifth year that BHCC has been named to the President’s Honor Roll. In 2013 BHCC Community Engagement programs reached an estimated 4,000 students, who provided approximately 5,000 hours of service to the Greater Boston community.
