BHCC’s Midnight Courses Media Campaign Receives “Grand Gold” International Award

Friday, June 4, 2010

Bunker Hill Community College won the top award – Grand Gold – from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) for its Midnight Courses media outreach campaign, BHCC President Mary L. Fifield announced today. Headquartered in Washington, D.C., with offices in London and Singapore, CASE is the major professional organization for education professionals in communications, marketing, fundraising and alumni relations.

Bunker Hill Community College is the first higher education institution in the country to hold classes that start at midnight. College faculty brought the idea to the College president who enthusiastically supported it as a way to introduce more flexibility into the course schedule. Classes draw shift workers, parents with young children and others who can’t go to college any other time.

Information on the award-winning media campaign will be on display in the CASE Salon during the CASE Summit for Advancement Leaders being held at the New York Marriott Marquis, July 18-20, 2010.  A summary of the campaign will be posted on the CASE Network as a model program later this year (www.case.org).
