BHCC Online Course Offerings

Using the internet, videoconferencing technology, and conventional postal services, BHCC Online courses offer a flexible, convenient option to motivated learners seeking an alternative to traditional classroom education. Every BHCC Online course contains the same content as traditional classes and are fully accredited and transferable to many other institutions.

Bunker Hill Community College offers five exciting options for distance learning:

  • Web courses: These internet-based courses allow students to complete their coursework anywhere they have access to a computer and the internet.
  • Hybrid courses: These courses combine traditional classroom components with online learning experiences and activities.
  • Streaming Media (SM) Courses: Streamed media courses designated as (SM) provide students with access to asynchronous media based courses available at http://mediaserver.bhcc.mass.edu:8080/
  • Virtual Courses through the Web (VC): Virtual courses (VC) are available for students who are interested in online synchronous courses that meet at specified times over the Web using a voice over internet protocol technology (Elluminate).
  • Massachusetts Colleges Online (MCO): This partnership of 15 community colleges and 9 state colleges extends convenient and flexible course offerings to students throughout the state and beyond.

Because teaching and learning in an electronic environment is a relatively new concept, students are encouraged to discuss this option with an Academic Advisor or Faculty member. You may also view our online demonstration and complete our self-assessment questionnaire.

Bunker Hill Community College is committed to using the most advanced technologies to enable teaching and learning for a diverse population. If you have any additional questions, please contact us at 617-228-2466 or e-mail us at onlinehelp@bhcc.mass.edu.
